About Us

Youth of the World (YOW) is a non-profit organization founded in 2014 by Orrett “Bambino” Hart and Delroy Escoffery. Our founders and directors believe in uniting, uplifting, and enlightening the youths in hopes that they will in turn contribute to building a better nation and a better world. In 2019, Delroy McDowell and Deeshai Escoffery opted to give technical support and their expertise as the foundation’s graphic, web, technical, and support directors.

YOW is dedicated to empowering young people to reach their full potential. Our organization has been providing resources, education, and opportunities to youth in our community for over 9 years.

Our mission is to support youth development by funding programs that promote physical, social, emotional, and cognitive development among the youths of Jamaica. We believe that by investing in our youth, we are investing in the future of our community.

Jamaican youth are key agents for social change, economic development, and technological innovation and are major human resources for development. Youths are also an important demographic group, comprising almost one-third of the population. Less than one-half of Jamaican youth live in households with both parents and nearly one in five under 18 live in households without either parent—placing such youth at greater risk for a range of negative outcomes.

At YOW, we are committed to building a sense of community among young people. We believe in promoting inclusivity, diversity, and collaboration, and we work to create a safe and supportive environment for all youth.

Through our advocacy efforts, we are also raising awareness about the issues that affect young people and creating positive educational and social changes. We believe that in whatever way we can for the youths, we can make a real change and difference in their lives.

Thanks to the dedication of our staff, volunteers, and supporters, YOW has been able to make a meaningful impact on the lives of countless young people in our community since its inception in 2014. We are proud of what we have accomplished so far, and we are excited to continue our work in the years to come.
